How to make reading a regular habit?

I never had the habit of reading until the age of 23. I always used to wonder how people read and talk about so many books and authors. I fell in love with the armed forces couple of years back and that made me watch a lot of videos about army, navy and the air force. I literally watched every single video on YouTube.

My brain slowly developed an urge to learn more about the army, their lifestyle, stories of soldiers and officers who served in it, the rich history of each and every regiments in it, the battles fought etc.

When I ran out of content to watch on YouTube, I started reading articles on the internet where I found the names of few books related to defense. “Mossad” was the first book I ordered which was around 400 pages. I finished the book within a week because I had the curiosity to know about the Israeli intelligence agency.

I started ordering every single book that was there on Flipkart and Amazon related to the armed forces. Without even realizing I developed the habit of reading books. Though I have this habit now, I cannot read a novel or a fictional book. I can only read anything that is related to the armed forces.

So if you want to read books, think about a topic which you really really want to know more about. Only if you have the curiosity you’ll be able to read a book and once you start reading it, I bet you won’t be able to stop!

Happy reading :)
